VPN and Internet Speed
My internet at home is pretty decent, but I stream a lot and sometimes upload large files for work. I’ve heard people say that using a VPN can slow everything down because your connection goes through another server first. Is that something you really notice in everyday use, or is the difference pretty small most of the time?

In my experience there can be a small drop in speed, but it usually depends on the server you connect to and how far it is from your location. A few years ago I tried a couple of different VPN tools while traveling, mainly because hotel Wi-Fi can be unreliable. If you pick a nearby server the connection often feels almost the same as normal browsing. I’ve been using Toggle VPN recently and for things like streaming or video calls it works fine for me. There’s some extra routing involved, so a slight slowdown is possible, but with stable servers it’s rarely something that interferes with daily internet use.
