Has anyone worked with services that perform system-level drawing overlays and comprehensive documentation reviews? I’m curious to know if they actually help identify inconsistencies between MEP and civil systems (such as points of contact or system boundaries), and how useful their reports and marked PDFs are in a real-world project.

I first realized the true value of a design review when we received a detailed analysis of the drawings and systems even before construction began, the team literally overlaid all sections of the project and highlighted where conflicts arose between MEP and civil engineering solutions, including intersection points and system boundaries, it is in this format that the Constructability Review feels like a tool that catches problems before they reach the site. After adopting this approach, the number of reworks and requests for clarification decreased significantly, and the drawings became much more realistic for construction.
