Washer just stopped halfway through and now it’s sitting with water inside the drum. It still turns on but won’t continue the cycle or drain. I’m in Charlotte and honestly not sure if this is something simple or if it’s already a repair situation. Any ideas what usually causes this?

Could be a couple things — when mine acted like that it was just a blocked drain filter, but I’ve also seen pumps fail the same way. Try cutting power for a few minutes and see if it resets, then check if water can drain manually. If it stays stuck, don’t keep forcing cycles, just get an appliance repair technician near me to test the pump and control system properly.
