How Often Should Hardwood Floors Be Refinished?
I'm curious about everyone else's experience with hardwood floor refinishing.
I've had hardwood floors in my home for several years, and they're starting to show light scratches and a few dull areas in high-traffic spots. The damage isn't severe, so I'm wondering if it's worth doing a complete refinishing now or if a professional screen-and-coat would be enough to extend the floor's life.
For those who have refinished hardwood floors before:
How many years did you wait before refinishing?
Did you choose sanding and refinishing, or just a new protective finish?
Was the improvement worth the cost and downtime?
I'd also appreciate any maintenance tips that help keep hardwood floors looking new for longer.
On a side note, while waiting for contractors to send estimates, I've been passing the time by playing Golf Hit. It's a simple casual game that's surprisingly fun for short breaks after dealing with home improvement planning.
Looking forward to hearing your recommendations and experiences!
